• Mount Rushmore was probably the most disappointing experience I've ever had. The media has done an absolutely fantastic job aggrandizing it to make it look like a towering monolith of pure artistic genius (notice how most shots are taken at the base at an upward angle to force your perspective into seeing something larger than is actually there), but in person it looks like the backyard side-project of some rich dude that needed something to do in retirement.
